Cathy Ferrett

Portraying her love of Africa nurtured whilst growing up in Zimbabwe, Cathy who is a self-taught artist, expresses the beauty of nature, even in the little things such as mice and wasps.

Using her skill and eye for colour, her unique hand-crafted wall sculptures made from clay with Led lighting, reveal not only a practical aspect of art, but a vibrant and humorous one too. Cathy also does intricate watercolours.

She delights in showing intricacies in detail in her black & white drawings and also loves to portray the quirkiness of life.

"In The Derelict House, Lesley Cripps Thomson vividly conveys the fun and the frustrations of living and working in the African bush.

Enlivened by the many characters who pepper the pages, her book also paints a colourful picture of the wildlife scene.

For those who aspire to sample wild Africa for the first time, and for those who have already fallen under its spell, this is an excellent read!"
