Lin Barrie taking inspiration from the remote wilds of Zimbabwe where she lives, Lin portrays the world around her. Sketching as she observes the wildlife she creates evocative works on canvas using pencil, charcoal, oils and acrylics. She enjoys the immediacy and abstract quality of her preferred tool – a treasured old palette knife inherited from her father.

I feel an intimate connection with the natural world, and I love travelling to the wilderness outposts., wanting to express whole ecosystems, people and animals, in my work.”
